Blog of the Month

This months blog:  Fashion Your Seatbelts.

I honestly think that anything I say here won't really do enough justice for just how much I love this blog and Toni's style, so I'll just say this instead:

Some people are just f*ckin' cool

FASHION YOUR SEATBELTS
Ah, a girl who loves brogues as much as I do,  you got to respect that!

I love her clothes, I love her hair, I love her pictures!  You should too, so check out her blog here.

Peace,

I’m a Riot

“I’m a riot, you’re a f****n’ Riot”

This post’s TUNE comes from The Blackout.  So the fact I’m from Merthyr and might be slightly biased to a band from my home town should not influence your opinion on these guys, because I think they are just awesome!  I’ve seen them more times than I care to remember, mostly at Merthyr’s Studio Bar, which sadly no longer exists :( I did love it there, anywho, back to the present, you can watch the video here, and you can visit the Blackout’s website here .

Onwards and upwards...

Playsuit: Dorothy Perkins (£25.00, sale)
Shoes:Peacocks (£16.00)
Bag: Dorothy Perkins (old)
Earrings:Matalan (old)
Bracelet:Topshop (old)
Jacket: Primark (old)

This is my very first ‘night out’ outfit.  Wow. I wore this saturday night for a night out with the ladies around my home town.  If you know the area where I live you will understand just how rubbish our club is (the giveaway of where I live is obvious in my song choice today).   Anywho, this place is just so sh*t, it’s actually come back round to being “aight”, well kind of... every now and again... maybe...

So yup, I found this playsuit a week or so ago in the sales and despite the fact that there was very little money in my bank account I knew I had to have it.  So ‘bye bye’ I said to what little money was left and ‘hello’ sexy jumpsuit.  But it was all worth it because I don’t half love it.

As I was all in black I thought it was necessary to add just a bit of colour so I dug out my very old red clutch and added this into the mix.  Job done.

I had a really good night but my feet felt like they had taken a battering the next day from my new heels as we spent most of the night dancing to the same cheesy crap that they were playing back when I was 17 (there is only so many times you can listen to the Killers before you want to repeatedly punch the DJ in the face)...  Nevermind, I’ll live.

What did you get up to on the weekend?  Also, if you have a local nightclub that rivals the sh*tness of mine then let me know, maybe we can have a bit of a competition between them.

Hwyl (Bye in welsh, see you learn something new everyday),

Thrift Shop

I wear your granddad's clothes
I look incredible
I'm in this big ass coat
From that thrift shop down the road”

This post’s TUNE comes from Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.  I don’t normally use recent songs as generally I will like something for a while and then it just gets over played and gets on my nerves... however, this song is so damn good, and I have played it so many times that it easily qualifies as a TUNE.  I don’t know much about them, but what I do know is that (as far as this song goes), they don’t half make some good music.  The video is amazing, the lyrics are even better and then beat is just effin’ amazing, so check it out.  I like the piss take quality of it all, the way I see it everyone is “thrifting” crap these days, but lets not forget the fact that end of the day it’s someone elses old sh*t, but then again, if you can do it good for you...  You can watch the video here, and visit the website here.

boom boom boom...

Disco Pants: Some shop in Liverpool (old)
T Shirt: Primark (old)
Daps: Primark (old)
Blazer: River Island (old)
Bag: Primark (old)
Earrings: Topshop (old)
Braclets: New Look, Topshop (old)

So yeah, I'm still loving the disco pants, lets not let them be a quick fad whereby they sit in the back of our wardrobe never again to see the light of day until eventually they make their way to the rail of our local charity shop... for just one wear a month you can save your disco pants from this miserable future, to donate call...   Oh wait, sorry about that, I just slipped into charity mode there.

Yeah, disco pants, a t shirt, blazer and some white daps, kinda summery.  Well the sun was actually shining when I took these pics so I figured I would make the most of it.  It happens so rarely that I had to stop taking these pictures wearing only a bikini, but you don't need to see that... no one needs to see that...

Well another week has began, back to work, and after spending a weekend going out and shopping it's even more gutting than usual.  Oh well, untill I figure out a way of correctly guessing the lottery numbers this is what's got to be done.  If anyone has figured out a way to guess the lottery numbers, please get in touch, I think we could be really good friends.Ta very much.

Stay sexy,

Holiday Wishlist

Doesn't everyone just love a good wishlist...  well even if you don't, tuff, 'cos I'm doing it anyway...

I have made no secret of the fact that in March I will be off to Goa to spend 2 weeks in the stifling hot sun sheeeeeeine lying on a beach and just generally lounging about (I’m so excited).

So as March is getting very close and I’m the type of person who likes to have their bag all fully packed at least a week before I go (super mega organised, or alternatively, 'loser'); I thought I would create a bit of a wish list.  Admittedly I probably won’t end up getting these things and will instead go for the cheap option whereby I buy everything in Primark, but still it’s nice to dream...

Drum roll please...
A Bikini is a must have... obviously, I need to at least give myself half a chance to get a tan, even though, lets face it, I know I definitely will come back just as daz white as when I arrive there...
Navy Pacha Metallic Bikini Bottoms, River Island, £12.00
I need a pair of bikini bottoms to go with my top.. unless I go to 'special' beaches.  However, I will not be going to any 'special' beaches so these are a must.
Someone has been watching too much My Mad Fat Diary.... Ah the 90's glasses, bloody love them!

Ikat Traveller Rucksack, Accessorize, £35.00
Perfect for sticking the beach towel in plus some other necessities and heading off down to the beach!

Butterfly Viscose Dress, Oasis, £45.00
This dress is so pretty!  I've had a bit of a job trying to find a light summery dress, bbut this one seems perfect.  I'm guessing as it gets closer to summer there will be actual summer dresses, but trust me to go on holiday out of season.. what a little odd one I am!

A pair of denim shorts - ESSENTIAL for holidays, I especially love these ones... ooooohh nice...

Tapestry Bralet by Rare, TOPSHOP, £35.00
This top would look so good with the denim shorts, very cool, whether or not I'm cool enough to pull the look off is another matter...

HAITI Peep Toe Cut Out Shoes, TOPSHOP, £35.00
I hate Hate HATE flip flops, so if at all necessary I will try and avoid them at all costs (of course, I do accept that I do need to wear them on holiday), so these are just utterly perfect for trotting down to the beach and keeping my wee tootsies cool

Cream Scallop Texture Swimsuit, TOPSHOP, £36.00
Lets be fair here, this is purely for posing, realistically, I won't be getting no sun to my wee little white body if I cover up even more!  However, this is just so frickin' awesome that it had to make the list, proper old school glamour

Like I said I’ll probably end up with Primark stuff because lets face it, given the weather in this county it’s quite likely I won’t be wearing any of this stuff again any time soon...

What’s on your wish list for holidays?  Any tips on what I should be taking?

Adios,

The Nails Files Part 3

I wish I had the time and the patience to be able to paint my nails all pretty and that but unfortunately most of the time they are left clipped short, slightly broken and just generally looking worse for wear.  However, sometimes complete and utter boredom may set in and I find myself with nothing to do and tada, I paint my nails.
You are very lucky this time as I have done a mini tutorial, proof of exactly how bored I was, so here goes:

A Bunch of Fives

Start off with a base coat.
I chose a very light colour so not to distract from my pattern, you however, can use whatever colour your heart desires.

Then with a paper clip or preferably something less skanky, put a dot in the middle of each nail.  I’ve decided to use different colours for each nail.

Then put dots in a different colour around each central dot, these will be your lovely pertals.

Finally, make a small line with a green nail varnish for your stem.

And tada, some lovely flowery nails.  Gorgeous!

Like a Bird

Hola,

So if you remember last time I posted on here I was about to take to the skies in a mini aircraft... well I did, and it was AWESOME.

After a bit of a dubious start to the day, it was sun shining, then went beyond a joke foggy it finally cleared in time for us to be able to fly.  The weather was cutting it fine though, I’m not sure exactly where this gigantic freak cloud of mist came from (although I suppose I do live in Wales, it’s only to be expected), but lucky enough it decided to disappear literally just before we needed to go up.  Hurrah!

The flight centre is in a separate hanger off Cardiff airport base, which I think is pretty cool as this is where we fly from when we’re off on our holidays, we even used the same runway!   Ok, these may not seem like cool things to you, but maybe I’m just pretty sad... yup, I’m pretty sad!
Anywho, we took off at 3.00 pm in the end due to the weather and we were up in the skies for 40 minutes, during which time we flew over out house.  It’s very hard to get your bearings about how fast you are travelling and where you are from all the way up there as it’s not your everyday view but once you start recognising certain landmarks, i.e. my house and Ponty Sainsbury’s (I didn’t say they were important landmarks), it’s just so cool!

If you ever get the chance you should definitely have a go, you can check out the AEROS page with all the necessary details here.  It’s definitely up there with Scuba Diving and Swimming with Dolphins, both of which are quite hard to top...

I’ll stop boring you with my uninteresting facts now; instead I’ll show you what I wore:

I was properly layered up, comparatively close to the Michelin man, with 3 pairs of tights and 3 tops on, so if I look a bit larger than usual there is good reason for it!  However, there was a heater on board so no need for the extreme layers, ah well, I do like to keep warm.

 anti looking down look

Denim Shirt: HandM (old)
Jumper: HandM (old)
Shorts: HandM (old)
Tights: Primark (£2.50)
Boots: New Look (old)
Satchel: Camden Market (old)
Coat: Next (£60.00)
Necklace: BeeJewels *
Watch: Urban Outfitters (old)

This was my practical ‘getting in a plane’ kind of look.  I didn’t think a little dress whereby a sudden gust of wind could expose me to the pilot would be appropriate so I opted for this look.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Over and Out,
